It`s not difficult to see why director Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) bought the film rights to the Temeraire series: its mixture of military history and warfare, plus the relationships between the fighting dragons and their captains and crew, are right up his alley. The six previous books in the series have more than 910,000 copies in print, with high rates of movement. This one follows Temeraire and his captain, Will Laurence, to their new home: the prison colony in Botany Bay, Australia.
